Also, if it does indeed work I’d also like to know if the back pedals can still be mapped out despite being recognized as a normal PS4 Controller as well as if you can change the LED colour like you can with a normal PS4 Controller through Steam Big Picture. If someone else has already thought of this and tested it out I’d appreciate if they could let me know if it works or not. Of course I haven’t been able to try this myself as I don’t own the Astro C40 but I am thinking of getting it sometime in the future and would like to know if this works before I spend $250 on it. People have found multiple fixes to this but I thought to myself, wouldn’t the easiest and quickest fix to this just be configuring the controller with DS4Windows? That way the driver is coming straight from DS4Windows and the controller will always be recognized as a PS4 Controller, especially in Steam Big Picture. Also for some odd reason when I press the PlayStation button down and use the touchpad I'm able to click on things in the game I don't know why that's happening. After doing some research I’ve seen that there are some complications when it comes to getting Steam to recognize the Astro C40 as a PS4 Controller so that the touchpad works. And then it just went out again and now I really don't have a way of getting it to work. The first time it happened with the PS5 controller I uninstalled the Master Chief collection and reinstalled it on a different drive and that seemed to have worked but then I tried my hand again at making the DS4 Windows work with the PS5 controller and then it happened again so the third time I booted up the Master Chief collection from my files instead of steam in the controller did work but with no vibration. Same thing is happening with the PS5 controller only it's getting worse. I did have a ds4windows issue the day before I got the PS5 controller I was using my PS4 controller with ds4windows open playing the Master Chief collection when my next boot up had an issue with the controller not working but then at the time I just verified my game files and then it started working again. You can customize your gaming experience with different profiles, and the program runs smoothly in the background while you play. The application is free and it’s easy to set up. Wrapping Up DS4Windows is still the best way to use your PlayStation controller on your PC. I don't think the problem started with the PS5 controller. This support was added in the Janubuild of Steam. Not completely sure but I also feel like this is a file issue. Does DS4Windows' virtual controller (Xbox/DS4) is detected and behaves as normal on the Gamepad Tester Website?.Most games support only xbox controllers, so switch to Xbox emulation on the profile you are using and check if your controller is detected on the game then In case you are emulating a DS4 controller, remember that DS4Windows cannot magically add support for DS4 controllers in games that don't have it. I'm not asking what real controller you are using, but what type of virtual controller you've set on your DS4Windows profile. Are you emulating a virtual Xbox or virtual DS4 controller?.In case you have not, check the Preventing the double controller / double input issue in games guide for an explanation on what is the double input issue, the problems it can cause and how to prevent it.Have you hidden your real controller to prevent the double input issue? Check this image to verify if your real controller is hidden or not.2) I'm emulating a Xbox controller 3) etc.") (When replying to this comment, make clear to what question you are answering. My ultimate goal was to play The Master Chief collection and use that triggers with the Dual sense but once again it caused the controller to not work with steam and therefore every time I open Master Chief Collection the controller does nothing at all and now nothing I've proved easily had done works even uninstalling and reinstalling the message if collection I totally don't know what to do now. There's a huge conflict with the ds4windows and steam going on I'm not sure exactly how to fix it I did fix it at one point by uninstalling and reinstalling the Master Chief collection it was working just fine just like the PS4 controller was but then I wanted to download the DS4 again so that I could use haptic triggers. I've been using a PS4 controller just fine without the ds4windows but yesterday I decided to get a PS5 controller I'm not sure what's going on but for some reason I'm having a strange phenomenon where ds4windows won't work properly with steam specifically with the Master Chief collection the controller will sync up to steam but will have no control once I start playing the Master Chief collection. I've spent hours trying to fix this problem but I seem to just can't get it.
